Title of the event Workshop on Stanardisation Activity

Technological University Dublin organised and hosted a virtual standardisation workshop on 25th September 2023. This workshop was held on Microsoft Teams from 2 to 3:30pm, Dublin time. The purpose of this event was to introduce workshop participants to the standardisation landscape. During the workshop presentations were given from the Spanish Association for Standardisation (UNE) and TU Dublin on the Up4Health and Alehoop projects and their progress in standardisation activities. Participants learnt of the benefits of standardisation for R & I projects, and they were also given the opportunity to take part in practical case studies demonstrating the searching and use of standards from the ISO and CEN databases.

Description of the participation

The event was chaired by Dr. Lubna Ahmed, who welcomed the attendees and outlined the agenda and the objectives of the workshop. Dr. Catherine Barry-Ryan introduced the participants to the Technological University Dublin and the School of Food Science and Environmental Health. Dr. Catherine-Barry Ryan and Dr. Lubna Ahmed lead the case-studies with participants which allowed participants to learn the technicalities in retrieving the relevant standardisation documents for use.

The standardisation workshop was attended by 38 participants including InnoProtein, Up4Health and Alehoop consortium members, as well as Elana Ordozgoiti de la Rica, who is a representative of UNE.
